Singaporean up-coming artist, Madeline Chin, is currently pursuing her BA (HONS) Degree
in Fine Arts at Lasalle College of the Arts. She has been working on time-based projects, developing style and ideas whilst exploring new mediums. Having grown up in Singapore, modernization has been part of her life, influencing her works and ideas to be more contemporary. Taking art classes since high school triggered her interest and love for the arts and therefore, she decided to pursue a career in Fine Arts.
Her works mainly encompasses drawing mediums like pencil, pen, charcoal and Chinese ink. But over the years, she has expanded into using mixed media for her installation works. She feels that installation is what best puts her ideas across to the viewers, as well as aiding her in expressing her ideas. Since then, she has started to explore more into this installation art and mixed media works. Madeline has also been exposed to printmaking and the various techniques it has to offer. Being a student and practicing artist, she has more opportunities to experiment and explore new mediums. Being a student also creates the opportunities for frequent collaborations with other artists in school, which sparks the exchange valuable ideas that has come to help her over the years.
