The common theme that I deal with often revolves around the psychology of people. I am drawn into the idea of how people react to physical and psychological happenings and how identity is shaped by a person’s past. Memories are an important part of our lives and to me it isn’t purely a theme that I work on. It is a personal space where art for me, is conceptualized.
Life creates memories and us, being human, will eventually leave these memories back in time. In order not to forget these memories, I decided to record them using art. Keeping with us something tangible will remind us of our past. My memories both contain happy and sad past, which are both reflected in my works.
My past works were time based and experimental; it has aided me in expressing myself through visual kinetics and exploring depth in art that I make. I have narrowed my materials down to drawings and installations for they seem to better express my feelings. Installations have a wider boundary in which I can explore.
In my future works, I would work towards a wider audience, instead of limiting myself as the subject in my art. Using people’s memories, and behavioral studies to create art.
